Changing a smoke detector is easier thank you might think!
- First, turn the smoke detector a quarter turn to take it out of the housing.
- Next, depress the wings on the bottom, and disconnect it from the ceiling.
- Take the new smoke detector, close up the battery compartment, and find the prongs on the back.
- Reconnect the new smoke detector to the ceiling.
- Lastly, make a quarter turn on the smoke detector to secure it to the ceiling.
And that’s an easy home repair you can do in less than ten minutes!
