Rhode Island is a great summer destination for a number of reasons… here are just five!

First, the state has 400 miles of coastline, which means there are plenty of beaches to enjoy, including Misquamicut State Beach, which is the state’s most popular stretch of sand and surf with over a half mile of beach front.

Second, Newport is home to a number of mansions that are open for tours. Famous properties include The Breakers, Chateau-sur-Mer, and The Elms, each of which you should plan to spend at least an hour in.

Third, there are many woodland trails and lakes that are perfect for hiking and swimming. Check out the options are Foster, Scituate, and South Kingstown.

Fourth, the state is home to a number of festivals and events that are perfect for summertime fun, with The Newport Jazz Festivalbeing one of the top annual events.

Finally, Rhode Island has a number of great restaurants, shops, and attractions that make it a perfect place to visit during the summer months. Spend some time in downtown Providence, Federal Hill, and East Greenwich if you want to really enjoy yourself.
